Malcolm McRae shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute to Anya Taylor-Joy in honor of their fourth wedding anniversary

"I'm trying to return to you more love than you’re able to give out," he wrote in part

The couple secretly wed in New Orleans in 2022, and tied the knot again the following year in Venice, Italy

Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae are celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary.

The couple privately wed in New Orleans in 2022. In a heartfelt post marking four years of marriage on Wednesday, April 1, McRae, 31, penned a sweet, playful tribute to Taylor-Joy, 29.

"Four years married," the musician wrote on Instagram. "I'm trying to return to you more love than you’re able to give out. But it’s hard because you’re better than me at *almost everything. I dominate in thumb wars."

McRae shared two photos and a short video with his wife. In the first photo, the pair hold hands while standing next to a what appears to be a doberman puppy. The couple share a long-haired chihuahua, "Bartok the Magnificent," per Elle, but have not publicly spoken about owning any additional pet dogs. The next slide in McRae's post is a clip of him kissing Taylor-Joy as a boat takes them through a cave. The final casual photo showcases McRae with his arm wrapped around Taylor-Joy as they try on different hats.

Several celebrities congratulated the couple in the comments section, including actress Nina Dobrev, who wrote, "🥰🥰🥰 10/10 you two together," and podcaster Jay Shetty, who wrote, "Happy anniversary 🙌🙌🙌 so much love to you both."

Taylor-Joy and McRae kept their New Orleans nuptials largely under wraps until they celebrated their second wedding anniversary in 2024. At the time, the Split star posted unseen wedding photos and videos on Instagram, including a close-up shot of the couple's bloody, anatomically correct heart cakes and a clip of Taylor-Joy twirling in a dusty brown custom Dior gown embellished with flowers and birds.

“Two years ago, on April Fools, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans,” Taylor-Joy wrote in the caption. “The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever. Happy second ( first ) anniversary my love…you’re the coolest🫀.”

She added, "N.B yes, those are anatomically correct heart cakes. Yes, I am the vampire Lestat."

The couple tied the knot for a second time in Venice, Italy, in late September 2023.

Taylor-Joy opened up to British Vogue about her relationship dynamic when she was on the cover of the April 2022 issue of the magazine.
