John Cena’s next big-screen role is stepping further into the spotlight as the promotional campaign for Coyote vs. Acme continues.

A newly released poster offers a fresh look at the WWE legend in character. He teased a courtroom showdown where Cena isn’t playing the hero this time.

The film is set to arrive in theaters on August 28, and the latest artwork hints that Cena is ready to trade “Never Give Up” for a much colder approach.

The new poster, released on August 5, places Cena front and right as Buddy Crane, the ruthless corporate defense attorney representing the ACME Corporation. Dressed in a sharp suit and carrying a calculating expression, Cena fully embraces the role of the company’s legal heavyweight tasked with shutting down Wile E. Coyote’s massive lawsuit.

The hybrid live-action and animated comedy centers on Wile E. Coyote taking ACME to court after years of malfunctioning gadgets repeatedly backfiring on him. Based on Ian Frazier’s 1990 New Yorker article, the story transforms the familiar Looney Tunes rivalry into an over-the-top legal battle. This time, the only thing dropping faster than an ACME anvil might be the objections in court.

Cena’s Buddy Crane also has a personal connection to the case. He serves as the former boss of Kevin, Wile E. Coyote’s optimistic lawyer, played by Will Forte, adding another layer to the courtroom conflict. The cast also includes Lana Condor, while several iconic Looney Tunes characters are expected to make appearances during the trial.

The film’s journey to theaters has been almost as dramatic as its plot. Originally completed by Warner Bros. Discovery, the project was shelved in late 2023 as part of a tax write-off before Ketchup Entertainment acquired the distribution rights, ensuring the movie would receive a theatrical release.

With the latest poster leaning into Cena’s larger-than-life villain persona and the countdown to Aug. 28 officially underway, Coyote vs. Acme appears set to deliver a unique blend of courtroom comedy, live-action storytelling, and classic Looney Tunes chaos.
