The couple marked their wedding anniversary on Instagram with sweet tributes and sunflower-filled photos

Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham are celebrating 17 years of marriage.
In honor of their 17th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 1, the longtime couple shared heartfelt tributes to one another on Instagram.
“Happy anniversary🙏❤️🙏🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻,” Wahlberg, 55, captioned a video clip of the couple posing side by side in a field of sunflowers on a breezy day.
Durham, 48, commented, “Love you 🙏🏼,” and shared three snaps from the same floral setting in her own Instagram post. The couple coordinated in casual outfits with teal accents in the photos, with the Boogie Nights star sweetly kissing Durham on the cheek in one shot.
“Happy Anniversary baby 🙏🏼💜,” Durham wrote. “8 years- baby daddy. 17 years - married. 24 years together 🌟🥰🔒🤍❌⭕️.”
Wahlberg’s brother, Donnie, commented, “Happy Anniversary! Love you both! 🙏🏼❤️.”
Wahlberg and Durham met during a press junket in 2001 and had their first date the very next day. “We met in New York City while I was doing a press junket,” Wahlberg shared in a 2010 interview with PEOPLE. “I asked her if she wanted to come out with me, and she said yes. Then I asked her if she wanted to come to church with me the next morning, and she said yes again. So that was our first date: St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.”

The pair quickly began dating, and while the rapper-turned-actor said that he knew she was “the one” right away, he “still had to make sure that I was able to be the man I needed to be.”
The couple welcomed three children before they tied the knot: daughter Ella in 2003, son Michael in 2006, and son Brendan in 2008. The pair said “I do” in California on Aug. 1, 2009, and they welcomed their fourth child, daughter Grace, in 2010.

Speaking to Fox News in 2023, Wahlberg credited “communication” and “support” as keys to his long-term marriage.
“We love each other,” he said. “I mean, we — like everybody else — we all have problems and issues, but, being able to put those things aside and, you know, we’re blessed.”
His one piece of advice when it comes to marriage was: “You got anything you want to change? You just got to work hard to be able to go on and make those changes.”
