Nicole Kidman’s rumored new romance may have had an unexpected consequence according to an insider who says that it has also reportedly given her ex-husband Keith Urban the confidence to stop hiding his own.
Only a few months after their divorce in January, news outlets started posting new photos showing Kidman spending time with private equity investor Michael Reinstein during a trip to Portofino, Italy. The pair were also seen together at a hotel the day before, which fueled discussion about how involved their relationship was.
But according to an unnamed source quoted by the National Enquirer, the photos had an unexpected effect on Urban.
“Among their friends, it’s common knowledge they’ve both been moving on in their own ways,” the insider claimed, adding that the pair had simply been “very stealthy about it.”
The source went on to say that Urban had deliberately kept his own dating life out of the spotlight for months, apparently avoiding public dates and even asking potential partners to sign non-disclosure agreements in an effort to protect his privacy.
According to the insider, Urban had one reason behind being so careful about his private life and it seems as it has paid off.
“It’s become this cat-and-mouse game because Keith does not want to be the one who goes public with someone before Nicole does,” the source alleged.
If what the source says is true, Kidman’s rumored romance may have now removed his hesitation about being the first to move on publicly.
The country singer seemingly now feels more comfortable about eventually moving forward publicly with his own personal life after his ex-wife was photographed with someone new.
Another reason that the source also mentioned about Urban becoming so protective of his privacy is that he faced criticism over rumors about him with several younger women after he and Nicole the pair split in September last year.

“He took such a beating… It’s no wonder he’s been afraid to let anything about his private life get out,” the insider said.
As the internet is digesting the pics of Kidman and Reinstein, Nicole has been getting on with her job and stayed focused on work and family as she makes promotional appearances for the new season of Lioness.
She spoke with Extra, and explained that she intentionally limits how much time she spends away from home because her daughters are still her top priority.
“I’ve got one child in junior year and one who’s a freshman,” Kidman said. “So, I was like, ‘Okay, I got to be there taking care,’ you know? Multitasking, right?”
She also revealed that she originally planned to produce Lioness rather than appear on screen before series creator Taylor Sheridan convinced her to take on the role of CIA supervisor Kaitlyn.
“I’ve always loved this world, the espionage world, and I’ve never actually played anything in this genre,” Kidman said, adding that once she read the character, she was “hooked.”
And with Kidman taking her daughters into consideration, and Urban waiting for his ex-wife to make her first move, it seems as if this former family is still treating each other with a lot of grace.
