Prince William may be the future king, but one royal reportedly has no problem keeping him humble. According to royal expert Robert Jobson, Zara Tindall has never been afraid to speak her mind around her cousin.

He claims their lifelong bond allows her to treat William like family first and the heir to the throne second. That honesty, the expert suggests, has become one of the prince’s greatest sources of support.

Royal expert claims Zara Tindall isn’t afraid to keep Prince William grounded

As per royal authorĀ Robert Jobson,Ā Zara TindallĀ plays a unique role inĀ Prince William’sĀ life. Speaking to theĀ Daily Mail, the expert claimed she is one of the few people who is comfortable treating the future king like an ordinary family member rather than the heir to the throne.

Jobson believes that closeness comes from their shared childhood. The cousins spent holidays together in Scotland and Norfolk, long before William became one of the world’s most recognizable royals. Because of that, Zara is said to have known him before royal life took over.

That history, the expert argued, makes all the difference. ā€œShe knew him before he was a headline,ā€ Jobson told the publication. As a result, he claimed she has never felt the need to be overly formal around him. In fact, she is said to speak openly and honestly whenever she feels it is necessary.

The royal author even made a striking claim about their conversations. According to Jobson, Zara can tell William ā€œhe is being pompous,ā€ and she does. More importantly, the expert alleged that William accepts those comments because ā€œshe has no angle.ā€ In his view, Zara is not trying to gain influence or win approval. She is simply being herself.

Jobson also suggested that Zara’s upbringing shaped that attitude. Princess Anne famously declined royal titles for her children, allowing Zara to build a life outside the institution. She later became an equestrian world champion and won BBC Sports Personality of the Year through her own achievements.

Meanwhile, the expert believes Mike Tindall brings a similar perspective. Having enjoyed a successful rugby career before joining the Royal Family, Mike reportedly approaches royal life without being overly impressed by it. Jobson claimed that outlook also benefits Prince George, who shares a close relationship with his godparents.

Taken together, Jobson believes Zara and Mike offer something the monarchy cannot easily provide. They understand royal life, yet they are not defined by it. They attend family occasions when needed, then return to their own careers and everyday lives.
