Bella Vaughn and Hunter Johnson’s engagement has come to an end.

The stars of TLC's Unexpected have split less than a month after announcing their engagement and just over a year after welcoming their baby son, Wesley.

Bella, 16, confirmed the breakup in a TikTok video shared on Friday, May 29, after weeks of speculation from followers.

“This is the video I have been asked to make a million times to finally address it, and yes, we did break up,” she said, alleging, “I won’t go into detail why, but he lied to me and hurt my feelings. ... It was not a big deal, so, yeah, there was no drama, no tea behind it.”

Despite ending their relationship, Bella’s mother, Falen, said the former couple plans to continue raising their son together. “[They are] going to co-parent,” Falen said.

Bella also urged fans not to direct negativity toward either of them as they navigate the split. “Please don’t go attacking anyone, including us,” she said. “I am better off on my own.”

The breakup comes weeks after Bella announced that she and Hunter, 14, had gotten engaged. On May 6, the reality star shared photos of her ring and reflected on their relationship journey. “From promise ring to engagement ring, I’ll forever love you hunter wesley and i can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together,” she wrote on TikTok.

Bella and Hunter are among the youngest parents ever featured on TLC’s Unexpected. The pair welcomed son Wesley in March 2025 when Bella was 15 and Hunter was 13. Viewers were introduced to the couple during season 7 of the reality series, which follows teen parents as they prepare for and adjust to raising children.

Earlier this year, Bella opened up on Instagram about discovering she was pregnant at 14. According to Bella, she had been tracking her menstrual cycle and became concerned when her period failed to arrive as expected.

She said she and Hunter had gotten back together on June 1 and identified June 26 as her conception date. After taking a pregnancy test on July 10, she learned she was pregnant. Bella recalled documenting in her notes that a condom had broken during intercourse, pushing back against online claims that she intentionally became pregnant.

She also remembered immediately informing Hunter’s mother about the pregnancy before later telling Hunter himself.

At the time, Bella said she made it clear she was prepared to raise the baby independently if necessary. “He said and I quote, ‘I want to raise a family with you,’ " Bella recalled. “He chose to stay."
