Alabama sports reporter Christina Chambers is one of two people found dead on Tuesday in an apparent murder-suicide.

Local outlet WBRC, also her former employer, confirmed on Tuesday that Chambers and her husband were found dead in their Hoover home on Tuesday morning. A 3-year-old child was also discovered in the home, but was unharmed. Authorities arrived on the scene following a 9 a.m. phone call from a family member, who found the couple unresponsive.

In a Tuesday morning press release shared on Facebook, Hoover police announced that Chambers and her husband were both pronounced deceased from gunshot wounds, adding "it appears these deaths are the result of a murder/suicide and there is no threat to the public related to this case." The release also confirms that the couple's 3-year-old toddler was present at the time of the killings, but was not harmed.

Hoover Police did not immediately respond to **'s request for comment.

Chambers' former co-worker and fellow WBRC anchor Jeh Jeh Pruitt said in a statement, "She was one of the sweetest, most loving people that I know. She was relentless with running, loving her son, and loving life. I am glad I got a chance to hug and tell her I love her a week ago at the Super 7. I am so sorry for her family, the Chambers and Thompson Families, and her WBRC Family."

The sportscaster was additionally celebrated by Alabaster City Schools.
