Following months of speculation, David and Victoria Beckham's eldest son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham broke his silence about his relationship with his parents, saying he does "not want to reconcile" with his family and accusing them of "trying endlessly to ruin my relationship" with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.
In a string of lengthy Instagram stories posted Monday, Jan. 19, Brooklyn said he has "been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private," but after his parents and their team "continued to go to the press," he was left with "no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."
"I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life," Beckham added, alluding to online speculation he's estranged from his family because of his wife.
He further alleged his parents "have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped."

As Brooklyn Beckham Peltz breaks his silence on his relationship with parents Victoria and David Beckham, take a look back at recent public sightings of the family. In recent months, Brooklyn has stepped out for public events with his wife Nicola in Los Angeles and New York, but has not been spotted with his family. According to Getty Images, Brooklyn was last spotted with his dad and brother on Feb. 25, 2024, during a soccer match between Inter Miami and the Los Angeles Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. USA TODAY has reached out to Victoria and David Beckham's representatives for comment. David, 50, appeared to offer a response to his son's comments during an appearance on CNBC's "Squawk Box" Jan. 20.
"I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media," David Beckham. "For the good and for the bad. The bad we've talked about with what kids can access these days, it can be dangerous."
He continued: "I've tried to do the same with my children, to educate them. They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well."

The 31 year old, who grew up about an hour from Manhattan in New York, told Coveteur in September 2019 she decided to pursue acting after enjoying drama classes.
She most recently wrote, directed and starred in the 2024 film "Lola James," about a young woman trying to save up to get her brother out of their toxic family home. Victoria attended the film's premiere in Los Angeles, California, on Feb. 3, 2024.
Nicola also previously acted in the 2020 Netflix romantic comedy "Holidate," Michael Bay's 2014 film "Transformers: Age of Extinction" and M. Night Shyamalan's 2010 live-action film adaptation of "Avatar: The Last Airbender." She also starred in the "Bates Motel" series, playing the love interest of the young Norman Bates (2013 to 2015.)

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, took to Instagram on Jan. 19 to break his silence about his relationship with his parents after years of speculation of family turmoil. The 26-year-old wrote in a string of lengthy Instagram Stories that he does "not want to reconcile with my family" and made claims about the way his family, specifically his mother, have treated his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham. "My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation," he said. Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot in an elaborate wedding in 2022 at a mansion owned by the bride's father in Palm Beach, Florida. The wedding was a lavish affair with a galaxy of stars in attendance including, Eva Longoria, Serena Williams, Gordon Ramsay and model Isabela Grutman.
Later, in August 2025, the two renewed their vows with Brooklyn's parents absent from the ceremony. The celebration took place days after Victoria shared European vacation photos featuring several other members of the Beckham family.

Brooklyn and Nicola met in 2017 while they were dating other people, the two revealed in an interview with Glamour in June 2025.
"The first time I saw Nicola at Coachella [in 2017], I was instantly drawn to her," Brooklyn said. "She was gorgeous, obviously, but it was her warmth and energy that stuck with me. Even though it was a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, I never forgot it."
